Job Overview

The Office Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and providing support to construction projects, including but not limited to reviewing plans and specifications, creating and maintaining project schedules, monitoring project progress, and tracking costs and change orders.

Required Qualification and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, COTM or related field.
Experience as office engineer with minimum 5 years and above.
Previous experience in road projects is highly advantageous.
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Manager with the preparation and maintenance of construction schedule.
  • Assist Project Manager with payment requisition review and closeout activities including resolution of potential claims.
  • Make proper follow up the project held in line with the site manager, foreman and project manager.
  • Maintain and keep diary of the project and compiles material, machinery and manpower requirement.
  • Control the stock level of materials at site and make periodic visit to site.
  • Assist Project Manager(s) with any activities which helps the project to come to fruition.
  • Review, analyze and make recommendations for contractor’s claims on BOQ and Cost Breakdowns.
  • Review, analyze, establish and maintain shop drawings, working drawings.
  • Analyze and recommend changes to contracts and prepare necessary amendments in contract document.
  • Initiate, prepare, review, track, post, distribute Request for Information (RFI) and Variation Orders (VO).
  • Maintain organized and detailed construction files, project records and logs both in hard and soft copy on personal PC and online file management websites.
  • Ensuring project documentation is processed in timely manner and is retrievable.
  • Track, document, and manage project issues, conditions and process all contracts payment including prices adjustment including daily project reports.
  • Prepare monthly budget for his section and perform other related tasks assigned by the project manager.
  • Receive, prepare, review, process, forward, and track status of submittals also in line with reviewing and monitoring contractors, site manager’s or project managers submittals and/or documentation.
  • Maintain organized and detailed construction files, project records and logs both in hard and softcopy on personal computer and online file management websites.
  • Do the document preparation of weekly and/or monthly project status reports, action lists, final documents and closeout reports.
