Required Qualifications and Experience

Education: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is often required. Many companies prefer or require an MBA or a master’s degree.

Most directors have extensive experience (10–15 years) in sales and marketing, including a significant period (5+ years) in a managerial or leadership role.

Requirements

Develop and implement annual sales and marketing plans aligned with the hotel’s goals.
Identify new business opportunities in corporate, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), leisure, and travel trade segments.
Drive direct sales efforts to achieve room, banquet, F&B, and ancillary revenue targets.
Lead, train, and motivate the sales and marketing team to achieve targets.
Set individual KPIs and review performance regularly.
Foster a high-performance, customer-focused sales culture.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate accounts, travel agencies, government entities, and event organizers.
Represent the hotel at trade shows, exhibitions, networking events, and sales calls.
Oversee the hotel’s marketing campaigns, advertising, digital marketing, and PR activities.
Manage the hotel’s online presence, including website, social media, and online travel agencies (OTAs).
Ensure brand consistency in all marketing materials and guest communications.
Monitor market trends, competitor performance, and guest feedback.
Adjust sales strategies to stay competitive in pricing, promotions, and service offerings.
Budgeting & Reporting: Prepare and manage the sales and marketing budget.
Track ROI for all campaigns and promotional activities.
Provide regular reports to the General Manager on sales performance, pipeline, and forecasts.
