IRC began work in Ethiopia in 2000 in response to severe drought in Ethiopia’s Somali region and are currently providing assistance to Ethiopians and refugees in six regions in Ethiopia, implementing emergency and development programs in health, water and sanitation, economic recovery and development (ERD), women’s protection and empowerment, education, child protection, and multi-sectoral emergency response.

Position 1: MEAL Intern

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated MEAL Intern to support client feedback and accountability activities. The intern will assist the team in strengthening MEAL systems, improving client data management, and supporting verification processes.

BA/ BSC degree required:

  • MEAL: Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Data Management, Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • Strong English language proficiency (spoken and written) and local language skills are an added advantage.

Major Task

  • Assist with client feedback data collection.
  • Support client verification activities.
  • Contribute to maintaining an effective client database.
  • Perform other MEAL-related tasks as assigned.

Learning & Development Opportunities

  • Gain hands-on experience with the MEAL framework.
  • Develop technical skills in data collection and accountability systems.

Position 2: Supply Chain Intern

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Supply Chain Intern to support procurement, warehousing, fleet management, and asset management activities. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates seeking practical experience in humanitarian supply chain operations.

BA/ BSC degree required:

  • Supply Chain: Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Strong English language proficiency (spoken and written) and local language skills are an added advantage.

Major Task

  • Prepare RFQs for procurement processes.
  • Support bid analysis and documentation.
  • Assist with issuing Purchase Orders.
  • Conduct market assessments.
  • Review and verify supplier legal documents.
  • Organize and maintain procurement files (soft and hard copies).

Learning & Development Opportunities

  • Exposure to the entire procurement cycle.
  • Understanding of major supply chain procedures.
  • Skills in supplier document verification and procurement documentation.

Position 3: ERD Interns – (Kersa & Fedis Woredas)

About the Role

We are recruiting ERD Interns to support the HDP Nexus program. The interns will work closely with field staff to support agronomy practices, climate-smart agriculture interventions, and community engagement activities.

BA/ BSC degree required:

  • ERD/Agronomy: Agronomy, Agriculture, Natural Resources Management, or related agricultural disciplines.
  • Strong English language proficiency (spoken and written) and local language skills are an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support field-level activities, including land preparation and demo site follow-up.
  • Provide technical assistance to fellow and lead farmers on CSA and agronomy practices.
  • Support implementation of activities under the HDP Nexus program.
  • Assist the field team with stakeholder coordination and other assigned tasks.
