Job Requirements & Description
Position 1: Research and Analysis Intern
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must meet at least one of the following academic requirements:
- Be currently enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate-level program (second university degree or equivalent), including Master’s or Ph.D. programs; or
- Be currently enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
Applicants to the internship program are not required to have prior professional work experience. However, the field of study must be closely related to the internship area being applied for.
Eligible applicants include:
- Final-year undergraduate students (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
- Students enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. program; or
- Graduates who have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide official academic certification at a later stage of the recruitment process.

Position 2: Intern- Economic Affairs [Temporary]
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must, at the time of application, meet one of the following academic requirements:
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate-level programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent).
Applicants are not required to have prior professional work experience. However, their academic background, specialized training, advanced coursework, or technical skills should be relevant and contribute meaningfully to the work of the United Nations during the internship period.

- Be computer literate in standard software applications;
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds;
- Show openness, respect, and tolerance for differing opinions, perspectives, and beliefs.
Intern Specific text
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken, may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization. Successful candidates should discuss their specific visa requirements before accepting the internship offer.
