Required Qualification and Experience
- Education: Master’s Degree/BA Degree in Accounting, Management, Economics or other Business-related fields
- Experience: With 5 years of relevant work experience, including at least 1 year in a Jr. Accountant ( Jr. Finance officer) role within a bank, specifically in the Finance & Accounts department.
Job Summary
- Record and post daily financial transactions (cash, bank, vouchers, receipts, and treasury-related entries) accurately in the Core Banking System (CBS).
- Prepare and process payment vouchers, journal entries, and supporting documentation in accordance with internal procedures.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, subsidiary ledgers, and treasury accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor daily cash positions, interbank transactions, and investment activities, ensuring proper documentation and optimal liquidity management.
- Prepare tax schedules (VAT, withholding tax, pension, and other statutory deductions) and support timely regulatory filings in compliance with National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) directives and tax laws.
- Maintain proper filing and custody of financial and treasury documents, vouchers, and supporting records to ensure strong internal controls and audit readiness.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, regulatory reports, and management reports, including supporting schedules and reconciliations.
- Provide technical and operational support during internal and external audits by organizing and submitting required financial documents and explanations.
- Monitor outstanding balances, funding requirements, and pending transactions to ensure timely settlement and accurate reporting.
- Assist the Senior accounting staff in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform any other related accounting, treasury, or financial duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
